Still touring & still iconic! Jay &
The Americans continue to be a vibrant force in the music world, thrilling
audiences nationwide with their unforgettable performances. And now is your opportunity to experience Jay
& The Americans “live”. Our
comfortable North Star motor coach will depart Little Falls on Thursday, July 9th
from the northeast Wal-Mart parking lot at 10:10 a.m. We’ll also pick up in Royalton, Rice and Waite
Park. We’ll start with a delicious
buffet lunch at Coyote Moon, east of St. Cloud.
As always, our luncheon buffet will be featuring three hot entrees,
potato, vegetable, popovers, homemade soup, tossed Caesar salad, dessert and
beverage station. It’s always a pleasure
having lunch at Coyote Moon with a relaxed atmosphere and caring staff. After lunch, we head to the Paramount Center
for the Arts in downtown St. Cloud. We
have reserved seats waiting for us on the main floor for Jay & The
Americans. It started with four teenage boys in 1961 and is one of the longest
lasting success stories in the music world.
With a staggering 19 charted hits and nine Top 40 records from the early
1960’s all the way into the 1970’s. Their hit songs include “Come a Little Bit
Closer”, “This Magic Moment”, “Cara Mia”, “Some Enchanted Evening”, “Let’s Lock
the Door (and Throw Away the Key) and “Walkin’ in the Rain”. Founding members
Sandy Deanne and Marty Sanders remain at the heart of the group., their
signature harmonies and musicianship shaping the iconic sound that defined a
generation. Adding fresh energy to the
line-up is singer, guitarist and actor Darren Dowler, former lead vocalist of
Paul Revere and the Raiders. Led by the
powerhouse vocals of Jay Reincke and rounding out the group is vocalist Lenie
Colacino who starred in the Broadway hit Beatlemania. Together, Jay & The
Americans breathe new life into classic songs while honoring the legacy that
made them legends. It’s a great afternoon of entertainment. We will be returning to Little Falls around 4:30.
