    Join Gary Block Tours on Saturday, February 14th for lunch and show at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre’s Playhouse Theatre, where we have fabulous reserved table seating beginning in the 1st row in the Playhouse Theatre for one of the final performances of “Love Letters”.  Our comfortable North Star motor coach will depart from the Little Falls Wal Mart at 8:30. We will also pick up in Royalton, Rice, Waite Park or anywhere else along our route.  Lunch at the Chanhassen means friendly tableside service and a wide choice of entrees such as the famous Chicken Chanhassen, smoked blackened orange roughy, vegetable lasagna, Swedish meatballs, boneless fried chicken tenders, Waldorf salad, macro bowl, or cheeseburger and fries served with freshly baked rolls and coffee, tea or milk.  (Entree items are subject to change…and sometimes do!  Don’t make up your mind until you see the menu that day.)  Following our delicious lunch, there’s time to take a break, visit the gift shop or explore the theater. Then sit back in some of the best reserved tables in the theater for “Love Letters”.  Local broadcast legends Nancy Nelson & Don Shelby play the roles of Andrew Makepeace III and Melissa Gardner, pairing up once again in a poignant theatre collaboration to present this Pulitzer Prize nominated work which ran successfully for many years at the Chanhassen. Both born to wealth and position, Andrew and Melissa are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards and continue for some 50 years. The show is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences.  As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.  We are invited to stay after the show for a short Q&A with Nancy and Don. This is one of the final performances of “Love Letters”, so don’t miss this critically acclaimed production.  We’ll be returning to Little Falls around 6:00.
