Treasures of Art & Ocean
The Museum of
Russian Art, Sea Life & Mall of America
April 22, 2026
Join Great River Arts and Gary Block Tours on Wednesday,
April 22nd, when we depart Little Falls at 7:30 a.m. from the
northeast corner of the Wal Mart parking lot. Our comfortable North Star motor
coach will also pick up in Royalton, Rice, Waite Park or any other city along
the way. We’re headed first to the Mall
of America in Bloomington where we’ll explore Sea Life. Journey into an inspiring world with unique
creatures in over a million gallons of wow under the Mall.
We’ve included a behind-the-scene tour that will take us to three different
areas. Our expert guide will help us
discover how they care for thousands of creatures in Minnesota’s largest
aquarium. This guided tour immerses you
in their world of feeding and caring for the creatures. Discover how they create an ocean right here
in the heart of Minnesota and we’ll journey up a deck above the Ocean Tunnel to
come within inches of giant sharks, sea turtles and more. Following the tour,
you’re on your own to enjoy this underwater world with the famous 300-
foot-long underwater tunnel, touch a sticky anemone, meet rescued sea turtles
and mesmerizing jellyfish. Lunch is on
your own with a choice of over 50 restaurants in the mall. We’ve made arrangements with the mall for VIP
shopping with a MOA bag and a 2026 coupon book. It’s back on the coach in the
afternoon as we head to Minneapolis and the Museum of Russian Art. The TMORA collects, preserves, exhibits and
illuminates the rich artistic tapestry of Russia, past and present, through
outstanding exhibitions. The museum has built a remarkably diverse collection
of works ranging from paintings and sculptures to objects of folk art and
cultural artifacts. 95% of the collections
originate from Russia within its 1991 borders. Housed in a beautifully
renovated historic building, the Museum’s multi-level galleries provide a
tranquil setting for its dynamic array of exhibitions. Present exhibits include “Spies & Space:
Cold War Artifacts from Both Sides of the Iron Curtain” and “Cats & Dogs in
Soviet Art”. What a great day and returning to Little Falls
around 7:00 pm.
